I’ve had my Q50 for about two years now and honestly the paint is starting to drive me crazy. I’ve always been really careful about how I wash my cars, using the two bucket method and good quality microfibres, but no matter what I do, this car seems to pick up swirl marks and fine scratches like it’s a magnet for them. I’ve read online that Infiniti uses a relatively soft clear coat compared to some other brands, which makes it more susceptible to marring, and I’m definitely starting to believe that theory based on my own experience. The car looks great from a distance, but up close in direct sunlight, you can see all these fine imperfections that really take away from the glossy finish. I’m starting to think that regular washing just isn’t enough for this car and I need to get it professionally detailed to reset the paint and then maintain it properly afterwards. I’m considering getting a paint correction done to remove all the swirls and then applying a ceramic coating to give the clear coat some extra protection against future marks. I live over near MBZ City so I’m hoping to find a place that offers professional Infiniti detailing in MBZ City because I figure someone who knows these cars would understand the specific challenges of the soft paint and could recommend the best approach. Has anyone here with an Infiniti had paint correction done and felt like it was worth it? I’d really appreciate some honest advice before I commit to spending the money.
